Spaghetti, Friendship, and Porcupines: My Collaboration with Amber Zeppelin
I’m thrilled to share my latest collaboration with the brilliant Amber Zeppelin an artist I’ve admired for years. Her clever, down-to-earth humor and unique take on mental health, especially in her book The Grouchy Porcupine, has always struck a chord with me. When we teamed up again, it felt like magic.
Our latest design brings together her grouchy porcupine—famous for his no-nonsense attitude—and my easygoing capybara, who’s everyone’s friend. They’re sharing a string of spaghetti, surrounded by swirling pasta, tomatoes, and basil. The caption “Hello, is it me you’re cooking for” playfully nods to the iconic Lionel Richie song, adding an extra layer of humor to the piece. Much like Richie’s longing lyrics, this design is about connection, though with a quirky twist: food brings these two unlikely characters together.
This collaboration not only celebrates Amber’s witty creativity but also raised funds for a wildlife rescue charity. Amber’s talent for merging humor with deeper themes—like mental health and the struggles of modern life—always leaves me in awe. It’s an honor to work with someone whose art I connect with so deeply.
